Patience
I arrived at 3 PM at the car place and sat waiting half an hour for an oil change. Looked up from my book and met Teresa, also waiting, and said: Looks like you just have to make yourself comfortable around here.
Teresa: Yea, it's not easy. I've been here since 7:30 AM, trying to get my truck fixed.
Me: What! You've been waiting over 7 hours! How in the world are you so patient?
Teresa: I don't know. Guess I learned it from my job.
Me: What do you do?
Teresa: I work at a convenience store.
Me: You learned patience in a convenience story? How?
Teresa: Well, everyone is in such a rush, but their rushing doesn't make any difference. A person can just do so much. You have to just take what comes, and not get upset over it.
Me: (gulp!)
